After
you make an important point “pause” and let your audience “reflect” on your
statement.
When
you ask your audience a question pause afterwards and let them think or reflect
on it!
If
you say something “funny” pause afterwards and let your audience “laugh”. You
have heard the line, “Don’t step on your joke.”
Practice
your speech out loud pausing in the right places. Also by recording your
practice session and listening back you will hear if you have “paused” in the
right places!
Please share your thoughts and
comments about this blog.
Until next week remember to practice
pausing when you want your audience to reflect on something you have said to make your story memorable and visual.
